Top 10 Body Lotions For EXTREMELY Dry Skin
Happy FRI-YAYYYYYY. I have been on a “top 10” kick lately – top 10 hair masks, top ten Valentine’s Day dates….February is the month of lists and top 10s, I guess! I do love a good list and I especially love when it’s the top of anything. They’re my favorite kind of blog posts to read. SO – on that note: body lotion. It’s still pretty cold here, so the air is still so dry. I’m working on combating any and everything for my dry skin: especially around my belly. I haven’t purchased any specific belly lotions for my expanding middle section so I’ve just been using the lotions I have at home for now. If you do have a favorite belly cream – let me know so I can pick it up!

Top 10 Body Lotions For EXTREMELY Dry Skin
This is the stuff I’ve been using on repeat on my belly! This is a classic tried and true product for me – my mom has always used it and sworn by it so I just inherited her love of the product. I absolutely LOVE the smell but it is a little bit of an acquired smell I think. It’s cherry and almond, which some roommates I had in college referred to as my “grandma lotion”. I have never felt like it smelled like that, but to each his own. It soaks into the skin really nicely, doesn’t leave a film on my hands or skin afterwards and does make me feel hydrated. PLUS: only $8 for a large bottle.
This stuff is one of my all-time holy grails. Hands down. I’m OBSESSED with it. Literally. I love love love love LOVE this lotion. I got a small sample size of it one time (I don’t know where) and I was hooked. Downside is it’s CRAZY expensive for a small jar in my opinion when I use so much of it at a time. But it’s honestly worth it for me because it does such a great job. I use it on my hands and it smells absolutely incredible. Like sunshine and sunscreen (a favorite smell of mine).
This brand is quickly becoming a fan favorite in our house. I got a bunch of their lotions in the mail a few weeks ago and have been LOVING them. The lotions dry quickly, really moisturize my skin and smell super good. It even works well on the dry cracks in the hands from the weather, so I know it is doing some magic on my dry skin.
This is a current fave because omg it smells so yummy. BUT not only does it smell super good – it also is great a moisturizing. I try to stay away from TOO much scent in a lotion because I know that can tend to dry out skin if too much fragrance is added, but this one seriously does a good job. I’ve been using it on my dry elbows and they’ve really been improving.
Physicians Formula Body Butter : OUT OF STOCK
Ugh. This WAS in stock when I added it to my list but unfortunately it’s gone again! I do hope they bring it back thought because it’s a great one. It is the same smell as their perfume and butter bronzer so you know I like it. It’s similar to the sunscreen and sunshine smell of the bum bum cream. It’s a very thick moisturizer so it’s more of a before bed kind of situation. It’s a great to totally slather on your hands and feet and then go to bed because they wake up softer than ever.
I love Amika – and I love their hair products. They have awesome body wash, shampoo and conditioners. BUT: I wasn’t sure I’d love their lotion! However I was TOTALLY proven wrong. This stuff is SO good for your skin. Downside: it’s crazy expensive and you can’t buy it without the body wash AND it has a really strong scent. If you don’t care about price and you like a good strong scent – this is definitely the lotion for you.
Another pricey option but a really good one: this June Jacobs body balm! It comes in a large bottle and smells like oranges and lemons. It’s also super thick so it’s more of a night time lotion. It’s another one I like to use on my belly because it feels really good on my dry skin. My belly has been feeling SO stretched and tight and this makes it feel a lot better. SO good.
This and the next two were in my advent calendar from The Body Shop (one of my favorite advent calendars, btw). This little one is the perfect travel sized lotion. It’s the best when I’m out and about in the cold weather and my fingers or knuckles started to crack. It smells fresh and clean, and sinks into the skin without leaving a greasy film.
This is unique: it’s not a lotion, necessarily. It’s the craziest little invention. It’s a liquid designed to sink directly into the skin and moisturize right at the source. It doesn’t sit on top of your skin at all, dries quickly but leaves your skin feeling soft. It smells SUPER yummy (like coconuts) and is made with fair trade virgin coconut oil so it’s INCREDIBLY good for your dry skin. It’s definitely a unique concept, but I really like it.
I don’t know about you guys, but my cuticles are always cry, always peeling, and constantly cracking and bleeding in the winter. It’s the WORST. This is specifically for hands and nails and the smell is almost mouth watering. I love almond scents (like the Jergens one above). It softens my cuticles so they aren’t cracking as much, and make it easier for my to keep my manicures looking fresh and clean.
