How To Rock The Biker Chic Look This Winter

Happy #fashionwednesday! I am back at it this week with my style posts – hallelujah! Today I am showcasing one of my go-to looks this weekend – Biker Chic. I love this look because it’s way out of my typical comfort zone and I like to feel ~edgy~ even if the edgiest thing I do is eat a cupcake for breakfast instead of healthy fruits. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I am obsessed with my leather jacket – my hubby bought it for me last year for Christmas and it is honestly one of my favorite items of clothing. It’s SO warm so perfect for winter and it compliments almost any outfit you pair it with. Anyways – let’s dive into how to get that perfect biker chic look.

Faux Leather Jacket

I love leather jackets – I think they’re versatile and can be paired with almost any outfit. While these jackets may be pricey (though not as pricey as real leather jackets, so count your blessings), they are a timeless addition to your wardrobe that you NEED to make an impact on your outfits. Make 2018 the year you finally bite the bullet and add this piece to your collection. It’s an IDEAL layering piece, going over classy dresses, casual tees and chunky sweaters.

Mod Top

Graphic tees are one of my favorite pieces to add to my wardrobe. They look incredible paired with ripped jeans and a cardigan, with a faux leather jacket (as pictured), with a bomber jacket, a chambray top, alone with some knit joggers…the possibilities are endless. This particular top is from Target’s “A New Day” collection and it has shimmer and velvet detailing. I am OBSESSED with it. It’s so fun with it’s color block collar and floral details – they add a feminine touch to this outfit.

Ripped Jeans

Did you know ripped jeans originated from a punk movement in the 70s? They were practically unheard of as a style trend before that. Iggy Pop and Madonna were leaders in this movement, and in the beginning you had to rip your own as they weren’t sold in stores. Distressed denim came back with a bang in 2010 on the runways – and the rest is history. THANK GOODNESS FOR HISTORY. I live for distressed denim – in light wash, dark wash and every wash in between. They look great as skinnies and as boyfriend jeans.

Bold Booties

Red shoes tell an amazing story. Dorothy used them to get home in the Wizard of Oz, and women today use them as a bold statement choice in her wardrobe. Stand-out booties are making waves in fashion trends today and for good reason. They are this seasons most popular and versatile shoe. You can wear them with dresses, jeans, skirts and shorts. I chose this velvet red shoe as the statement piece of this outfit. They speak for themselves and I turn heads every time I wear them. I wonder if it’s the shoes themselves or the confidence I have when I wear them out?

Statement Purse

Big, oversized statement purses are a trend that isn’t leaving 2018 anytime soon. They’re on runways, in the hands of celebrities and now available to any stylish girl looking to up her fashion game. These bags are big investments usually (the one I have is a Kate Spade) but they hold up and they look beautiful. Not only that, but they’re big enough to fit a kitten and a small car if you want to. ๐Ÿ˜‰ While the quality purses can be pricey (I’m looking at you, Chanel), you can often find good bags for a fraction of the price if you look hard enough. I’m linking my favorite high-end and dupe brand bags below.

I love this look – it’s a great way to step out of your ~box~ if you don’t usually wear leather jackets and red boots. All you need is the confidence to pull it off with pride!
