How To Pull Off Embellished Necklines

Happy #fashionwednesday! I have been trying so hard to stop myself from decorating for Christmas — and consequently, DRESSING for the holidays. I have been obsessed with the new Target clothing lines, and the holiday collections are out already so obviously I could not help myself from picking up a few new pieces while I was there earlier this week. This embellished sweater is totally gorgeous and will transition PERFECTLY from fall into winter. Let’s dive into it.

How To Pull Off Embellished Necklines

Embellished necklines are often the hallmark of holiday fashion. Necklaces kind of go out the window in lieu of large rhinestones, embroidery, etc. They look beautiful and simplify the need for extra accessories.

Types of Embellished Necklines

There are tons of embellished necklines available in stores this season. I personally love rhinestones, but you can choose from embroidery, ruffles, pleats, florals and lace.

If you want to dress for November & December, I would recommend sticking to rhinestones, lace or ruffles. Rhinestones specifically. I don’t know if you’ve caught on — but I love rhinestones. They sparkle and feel very holiday-esque and Target has ALL OF THE SPARKLE SWEATERS.

Best win-win-win : their holiday sweaters are under $30 right now.

Don’t Overdo on Accessories — but DO Add A Vest or Jacket

Because you have a busy neckline, avoid necklaces or busy earring, and instead opt for a solid color vest or jacket. It’s chilly anyways and you are going to want to be layered. This solid grey sweater paired PERFECTLY with my faux fur vest.

The rhinestone embellishments and the faux fur make the perfect pattern combo. 10/10 would recommend.

Coordinate Your Shoes

The rhinestones on my sweater were more grey and rose gold, so I opted for my gun metal grey glitter heels. They have been a total staple in my closet for the last 3+ years (these are originally from  Express but I linked a similar pair above)l. I love that they tie in the sparkle in my top so that the entire outfit looks cohesive.

This outfit is so easy to replicate and is comfortable, too. I would think it’s perfect for a dinner date, Thanksgiving dinner and/or Christmas light viewing.
