Physicians Formula 2018 Holiday Gift Sets: ARE THEY WORTH IT?
Happy THURSDAY! It’s time to start thinking about the holidays….what you are putting on your Christmas list, what you are buy others for THEIR Christmas list, how many Christmas card envelopes you have to address (hint: all of them. just ALL of them). It can be totally overwhelming which is why I’m taking the time today to share with you TWO of my favorite holiday gift sets from Physicians Formula – one of my all-time FAVORITE brands. In my opinion, if you are going to get someone a Christmas gift that is makeup-related gift sets are the way to go for three reasons:
- They tend to give you more bang for your buck.
- They are typically deluxe vs full size – so you can try a product out before committing to a high-end $$$ tag.
- They usually have a range of colors and products included.
What more do you need than that, right? Physicians Formula always comes out with some amazing gift sets for the holidays and 2018 is no exception. Let’s dive into this.
Physicians Formula 2018 Holiday Gift Sets: ARE THEY WORTH IT?
This post is sponsored by Physicians Formula. All opinions are mine and mine alone.
Essential Minis Collection (+ bonus makeup bag)
This is a personal favorite of mine because they are travel sized versions of my favorites. As someone who regularly travels and tries to only pack a carryon when I can – this is essential for me. I have to be able to pack all my favorites so I don’t sacrifice my skincare and makeup routine for the sake of air travel. So what is included in this minis set? Aside from the cute silver makeup bag you get:
Rosé All Day Oil-Free Serum
This serum is an actual godsend in the summer-time. It doesn’t make my skin oily – but it does give my skin a beautiful illuminating sheen. It helps to tighten and brighten my skin (rhyming not intended….or was it…) and includes awesome ingredients like rose water, kadaku plum, gogi berries and vitamin c. It’s the easiest to pop in your bag on the go and it’s perfect for traveling so your skin stays hydrated and protected from gross airplane air.
Spotlight Illuminating Primer in “Glow”
This primer is the bomb if you are someone who loves dewy skin. It blurs my fine lines and helps to even out my skin tone (due to my hormonal acne). It has awesome antioxidants to protect your skin, and keep it hydrated and glowing. I like this shade because it isn’t like a tinted bb cream – it just has enough coverage to even my skin out without adding any color. I especially like how it softens the lines around my eyes, mouth and forehead.
Mineral Glow Pearls in “Champagne”
This highlighter is one of my all-time favorites. I have it in the shades champagne and translucent pearl. I like to top this right on the tops of my cheekbones. A good thing about this particular highlighter is the fact that it has the shimmer all the way through the formula. FUN FACT: Not every highlighter is created equal, a lot of times, drugstore highlighters will have a glitter overspray so after you get through the first layer, it stops being shimmery on your skin. Luckily, this highlighter is both affordable AND shimmery all the way through. This is a deluxe size, but because you only need a little bit, this size will actually go a long way.
The Healthy Lip Velvet Liquid Lipstick in “Fight Free Red-Icals”
This is one of my all-time favorite lipstick formulas because it stays all day long but it doesn’t bleed AND it is extremely pigmented. AKA. The dream formula. There are so many fabulous colors and I’m talking more about it below. This shade is Fight Free Redicals and it’s a really beautiful true red.
Killer Curves Mascara in “Black”
This is again one of my favorite drugstore products. This mascara has a thick wand, which I love, and the formula is the right consistency. It isn’t too wet and it isn’t too dry. I like that I can get my bottom lashes totally covered and it’s also great for my days when I don’t wear false lashes.

Color Me Healthy Collection
This gift set includes 13 shades from their Velvet Liquid Lipstick collection and a limited edition holographic lip topper. This lipstick is great because not only does it feel ULTRA comfortable on your lips – but there are shades for everyone included. It’s the perfect set to get someone who is just starting their makeup collection because it instantly vamps up their lipstick collection. They also include a fabulous range of neutrals and bold lips. I like that they are dark maroons and plums, a hot red and several pinks and nudes. I feel like this covers a range of skin tones so you can be confident that whoever you buy this for will be able to rock every single shade.
The holographic lip topper is a limited edition piece for this collection and it’s SO gorgeous. I love how it looks over lipstick and alone. It’s moisturizing and has a high-shine and metallic finish. I am a big fan of anything that is shimmery and metallic so this is the perfect easy last step to a makeup look.
