Pencil Skirts and Blanket Scarves
I am back at it again with another #FASHIONWEDNESDAY for you guys! YAYYYY. *cue applause*. Last week I posted about our Halloween costumes and that post has been my most popular one yet!! Thank you so much! Here’s to hoping you had an awesome Halloween. ALSO I want to see your costumes so be sure to drop a link in the comments so I can check them out! I need to be looking for ideas for next year 😉 Today’s post is all about how to wear chic pencil skirts and blanket scarves. I have featured blanket scarves before, but one can never ever have too many of them, amiright?!? This one is making it into my November favorites, that is for SURE. Check out my tips and tricks below for styling this outfit!
How To Style Pencil Skirts + Blanket Scarves
STEP ONE: IF YOU GOT IT, FLAUNT IT.
I have always struggled with finding the perfect pencil skirt. I like to dress modestly, no surprise there. That means I need a skirt that hits my knees or just a tiny bit above. I don’t go higher than that. But, unfortunately, that leaves my pencil skirt options (that don’t cost an arm and a leg) pretty slim. THANK GOODNESS Wet Seal came in hot with this little number. I am completely obsessed. A) it is the perfect color for fall B) it was on sale for $10 (insert gasps of disbelief) C) KNEE LENGTH!!! It is like a seriously triple threat. I can’t find the exact skirt I am wearing, but I linked to a similar one at the bottom!
STEP TWO: DENIM DENIM DENIM.
I am a huge fan of denim. It’s a little bit of an obsession and I have an absurd amount of jeans, jean jackets, overalls, etc. I can’t get enough of it. It is chic, causal and down right adorable. So I decided to top this outfit off with my favorite jean jacket. In my opinion, it is the perfect accessory. It adds a casual vibe that I just can’t get enough of. Again, I bought this years and years and years ago (hello high school) but I linked to one just as good.
STEP THREE: BLANKET SCARVES HELLOOOOO.
Guys, I am going to wear myself out singing the praises of blanket scarves. Mostly because I am literally always always always cold. I can’t help it. I live in Idaho aka ANTARCTICA. So, when sitting in my freezing lecture halls, it helps to have a scarf that will not only look incredibly stylish, but you will also feel warm and cozy and that is all I want in the middle of winter, ya feel? I now have four different blanket scarves and I don’t really think I will be stopping this ~ o b s e s s i o n ~ any time soon, TYVM.
STEP FOUR: BOOTIE BOOTIE BOOTIE ROCKIN EVERYWHERE.
These booties were purchased three years ago from Express and they have stood the test of time. They hardly even look worn! Covered in suede, they are a soft beige color which means they go with everything. They look good with jeans, they look good with sweater dresses, they look good with pencil skirts. Everyone needs to get their hands on at least 12 different pairs of booties. I’m at 6 so only 6 more to go. Sorry Hubs, I PROMISE IT IS NECESSARY.
Well, my dears, thank you so much for sticking around this long. I love sharing my style tips and tricks with you. It is just too much fun. This post on pencil skirts and blanket scarves has definitely been a fun one to share! Plus the booties. Never forget the booties.
