May 2019 Monthly Obsessions
Happy last Friday of MAY! We officially only have about 4-5 weeks left of baby-free life, so I’m working hard on making sure everything is ready for his arrival. We are SO EXCITED to meet this little dude. But – until then – it’s business as usual, so today we are going to be talking about everything I LOVED during the month of May. I had a lot of favorites this month, so it was really hard to narrow it down to just 10 (which, let’s be honest, is the case almost every month). ANYWAYS, let’s dive into this.
May 2019 Monthly Obsessions
Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam + Dry Oil
Sooooo – as it turns out, I’m not really getting as much sun as I usually do during the summer for a few reasons. 1) it’s so hot and I am so pregnant. It’s no bueno. 2) summer came late this year so I won’t have much time to lay out by the pool before baby comes and then I’m focused on him! 3) We moved into our house last fall and now I no longer have access to an apartment complex pool. LOL. SO with that being said, I ran some tanning lotions past my OBGYN, and she said they were totally fine to use. THANK GOODNESS because I wanted a little glow this summer. Check out my post here comparing some other popular self tanning oils/lotions!
Decorating the Baby Nursery
The nursery is FINALLY done (BLESS). I cannot wait to do the nursery reveal and share the baby’s name!! We painted, put in a new closet, hung up the pictures and shelves and put together all the furniture. It’s totally what I envisioned for his room and it’s been a total blast making this room come together with my husband.
White Confetti Box Ultra Rich Body Butter
I got a really awesome little body butter in a box a friend of mine sent to me and I’ve been completely OBSESSED with it. It also came with a candle that has the same scent and it is absolutely mouth watering????? It doesn’t say what the scent is but I want to bottle it and wear it as perfume. I will be devastated when I run out of the lotion and candle, tbh. SO GOOD.
Starbuck’s Passion Tango Tea Lemonade
My sister introduced this to me a few weeks ago and I haven’t been able to stop drinking it???? I personally get it sweetened, but you can also order it unsweetened. It’s super delicious and refreshing and a nice break from the Pink Drink when you need to shake it up. 😉
DIY Gel Manicures
I talked about DIY gel manis HERE so check that post out if you want all the nitty gritty details. BUT long story short: I have become OBSESSED with doing my own gel nails and having fun decorations on them. I have been playing around with both solid colors and fun designs. It’s not super difficult, and it’s less expensive than always going in to have my nails done at the salon.
Curtain Bangs
I am officially growing my bangs out, friends. It’s been a little over a year since I cut my bangs for the first time. I LOVED my bangs – I think they are adorable – but it’s time to move back to something a little more low maintenance with baby boy on the way. I know I’m going to want to be able to put my hair up in a messy bun or braid it back and I’m just not going to want to style bangs every single day. I’m hoping they are grown out enough in the next month to be able to go back into my pony tail!
iPad Pro
I purchased my iPad Pro about a month ago to replace my lap top and I have LOVED it. I have been able to bring it with me when it have appointments or meetings and it’s so much less bulky than my previous laptop. It’s super light and fits in most of my purses (so I don’t need to practically bring a carryon suitcase when I bring my laptop places). It does almost everything my laptop did with the exception of video and photo editing. Luckily, when I’m bringing my iPad places (even traveling), I’m not really doing any kind of hardcore video or photo editing. That’s reserved for when I am home at my desktop. But I can write and edit blog posts, publish social media posts, send emails, do blog post research, edit my website design, access my Trello account, etc. SO easy and SO fast.
Outdoor Walks with the Dog
The weather is FINALLY WARM. GOD. BLESS. I am so excited that the dog and I can start making our daily lunchtime walks again. The intense rain has stopped for the most part with the exception of summer thunderstorms. I love getting out and walking because it’s a part of my pregnancy workout routine and it’s really the easiest thing on my body right now. I can’t do much more than walk but I feel really good if I can get 1.5 miles in each day.
Our New BASEMENT COUCH!
We were not planning on buying anything for the basement until Christmas this year originally – but we found something selling this couch for an insane price and it was just what we were looking for when it came for the basement. It’s comfortable, reclines, and is a distressed fabric (aka: hides dog and cat scratches remarkably well). We still need to get a nice TV stand and a few other pieces of furniture later this year, but we couldn’t pass up this deal and now we can watch tv downstairs for the first time!
Ryka Walking Shoes
I have been wearing my Nike Frees for like 3.5 years now and it was time to get some new shoes. I love Ryka shoes and they are always SUPER comfortable. These shoes are no exception. They make walking on my sore feet feel so much better and I don’t get arch cramping when I wear them like I did with my frees. They are also such a cute color and I feel super stylish when I wear them!
This month was SUCH a mix of a million different things. From my new fave Starbucks drink, to finally being able to enjoy sunshine, to new furniture and self tanner – there was no rhyme or reason to what caught my attention this month. Next month I’m sure it’ll be prenatal massages and intense baby prep. LOL.
What have you been loving this month?! Let me know in the comments below!
