How To Carve A Pumpkin LIKE A PRO + Pumpkin Seed Recipe!

Happy Friday! I hope you had the most glorious week! I have spent the week taking exams and studying my tush off for midterms, so it is safe to say I am pretty drained. BUT. I carved pumpkins with my darling this week AND I AM GOING TO A HAUNTED CORN MAZE TONIGHT. EEEEP. I hope you are taking advantage of this October by going to as many haunted houses as you possibly can. For today’s post, I want to show you how to carve a pumpkin LIKE A PRO without the crazy mess, an easy and delicious way to use those pumpkin seeds, and because I love you all, I have even included 4 stencils you can print out and use to carve your pumpkins this year. Ya welcome.

How To Carve A Pumpkin Like A Pro + A Pumpkin Seed Recipe

STEP ONE: Pick your poison.

Choose which carving utensils you are going to be using and then pick your cute little pumpkin! I chose a beast of a pumpkin because go big or go home, amiright? We bought a $2.99 package of carving utensils from Walmart and called it a day. I didn’t feel like I particular needed a super expensive carving kit because I usually lose them before the next year, anyways.

STEP TWO: No buts, no guts.

Hiiii, Adam’s leg! Next step is to clear the pumpkin of all of the gross, slimy junk that is hanging out inside. I always make sure to scrape the inside of the walls so that I have a clean interior and none of the little slimy strings catch of fire when you put the candle inside. Once you scoop the guts out, make sure to put aside your seeds for later, as well.

STEP THREE: Choose your design!

I chose the Oogey Boogey Man as my design this year because I love the Nightmare Before Christmas with all my heart. If you are not experienced in pumpkin carving, you are welcome to use a pattern to outline your design. I drew my design free hand and ignored the pattern altogether.

This is the best part! I love carving! Take your fun little tools and carve away! The tools I bought at the store are more than adequate to carve through my cute little pumpkin, so you won’t need to grab a sharper knife. They are little enough for tiny hands, too! My baby sister and I used these as kids because they have a good grip.

STEP FIVE: Go ahead and admire your work.

Ta-Da!! The Oogey Boogey Man has never looked better.

STEP SIX: Make your yummy pumpkin seeds and enjoy!
