House of Senses: Review.
This is a sponsored post. I was sent this item for the purpose of review. All opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way.
I don’t know about you…but my shower in the morning (and my bubble bath at night) are my favorite parts of the day. I make some of my most important decisions in that tiled heaven. So when I got a chance to review House of Senses’ Body Wash for Dirty People…you get the picture. Between the packaging (minimalistic, clean lines, solid colors) and the hilariously charming name, I was hooked. By the end of this post…I think you’ll be hooked, too.
I rated this body wash based on three criteria: scent, bottle style, and texture. Let’s jump into this.
ROUND ONE: SCENT
The smell of Body Wash for Dirty People is very light. It is actually comparable to Johnson & Johnson’s baby wash. It works for both men and women (yes, I made my husband try it). Here is my verdict on the scent: I like it. As a woman, I prefer a slightly more floral scent but it is not unpleasant. I don’t feel like I can smell it after the shower, which I personally prefer. As a man, my husband says he usually prefers a slightly more cologne-like scent (think Old Spice) but he actually really liked the smell. We both like the fact that it doesn’t stick around forever so we can wear our cologne/perfume without interference.
ROUND TWO: BOTTLE STYLE
Packaging is 40% of the reason I buy anything. It drives my husband crazy but I don’t really care. Looks matter in the product department. I want something that is simple but pretty and will look good on my bathroom shelf. In the case of this body wash, Adam could not have cared less about the style. I really liked it. My only qualms with the bottle would be that I wish it had a pump. It only has a twist off lid and that makes it hard to pour the right amount.
ROUND THREE: TEXTURE
This body wash is an amber color and it was super smooth. I love that it got sudsy and soapy right away. It bothers me when body wash takes forever to get soapy. Like, I don’t have 16 hours to spend in the shower, ya feel. I also like that you didn’t need the whole bottle to get it going. One pour the size of a quarter is enough for your whole body. I dig it.
So. My final thoughts on this body wash. I really like it. I like that my husband and I can both use it because it keeps our shower free of clutter and keeps things simplistic. It doesn’t interfere with my perfume which is a huge bonus. It doesn’t make my skin feel sticky but it does leave me feeling clean. Another huge bonus for this brand: it is cruelty free. I won’t claim to know if all my products are cruelty free or not..but I do my best to try and be actively searching out brands that take care of our environment and the animals on it. I will definitely continue to use it and look forward to purchasing more of these products in the future.
Have you tried any other products from this company? Part of the draw for me is the witty tagline for this company: “grooming products for dirty people”. It makes me laugh every time. We all get dirty…and we all need to get clean. Why not do it with House of Senses?
