Harley Quinn and Joker Couple Costume
GUYS. THIS IS THE POST I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR ALL MONTH (well…actually since I ordered our costumes back in August). It is my styling of Harley Quinn and Joker couple costume!! We knew immediately this is what we were going to be this Halloween after seeing Suicide Squad (comic book nerds say what you will. I LOVED suicide squad. And Harley is my spirit animal). We knew it would be an insanely popular Halloween costume this year but we didn’t care because in 10 years (heck, tomorrow) when I look back to how much fun we had dressing up and taking these pictures, I won’t care. So take that mainstream media! ANYWHO. If you are looking for a semi-simple couples costume idea with makeup + costume tips, you are in the right place. Keep reading, good people of the internet!
Harley Quinn and Joker Couple Costume
Step One: Get your Harley on.
I <3 Harley. She is sassy, smart, and pretty much the biggest BA super villain woman. I mean, who doesn’t want to be her this year?! Her costume is fun, easy to replicate and will definitely turn some heads.
**DISCLAIMER** I know this is not an exact replica of the Harley Quinn costume from the movie. I prefer to keep myself on the modest side and bootie shorts and fish nets just didn’t do it for me. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest if you choose to do the exact version, I still think I rocked the look! 🙂
For Harley’s makeup look, I used Buxom’s custom eye palette with the pink and blue shades I had in there (for the exact colors check out this post). I got my eyeshadow brush wet and just went to town on my eyes. I then topped it with a winged liner and drew in the heart and ROTTEN tattoo on my face. Smudge up some red lipstick and you are gold. The best part about this look is it is supposed to be messy so go crazy.
I finished the looked with a spray of blue + pink temporary hair dye from the Halloween store and voila! Harley Quinn: Suicide Squad QUEEN.
Step Two: Ask me how I got these scars.
Guys. For real. I have the world’s coolest husband. Not ONLY does he humor me when I say “let’s get dressed up today and go take pictures in an alley” but he also lets me put eyeliner and lipstick on him so he looks the part. I love this man.
BUT BACK TO JOKER: This is easy. Put on some pale makeup (I put a VERY thin layer of white cream foundation on Adam), smudged up some black eyeliner, wrote “damaged” on his forehead and topped it off with red lipstick. BAM. Joker.
Don’t forget to spray on some green hair dye to really make it look authentic.
Step Three: Find an empty alley and beg your photographer to pretty please come take pictures of your Halloween costumes if you promise to bring her candy.
Michelle. You the REAL MVP. She makes us look more beautiful than we really are I swear. But actually she was the one who found this alley and it was perfect. We laughed, posed and then went back home and hung out in our costumes like the social butterflies we are. 🙂
Don’t forget to pin your favorites pictures for inspiration later 😉 !!
There you have it, friends. My version of Harley Quinn and Joker couple costume!! We had SO MUCH FUN getting dressed up and taking these pictures. Halloween is my favorite, guys. I am SURE you can tell that I don’t mess around when it comes to this holiday but…it is less than a week away and I cannot even deal. I am struggling with the fact that there won’t be any trick or treaters at our door this year 🙁
BUT ON THE BRIGHT SIDE. Adam and I just bought tickets for the local Haunted Zip Line this weekend and I could not be more thrilled. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Thanks for stopping by, as always, and I hope to see you back soon!
