FIVE WAYS TO STYLE A BELT BAG!
As a busy mom – I have been slowly incorporating belt bags into my life and it ha sa game changer. Seriously. Because as it turns out – moms do not have octopus arms and it was getting absolutely impossible to carry: the carseat, the baby, the diaper bag, a purse, my phone, my keys….etc. When I realized belt bags were coming back into style I was stoked. I have always loved them – and now they are super popular and EVERYWHERE. #thedream. If you have been looking for a few different ways to rock one this year (even if you are NOT a mom) – I’ve got you covered with FIVE easy ways to style a belt bag! Let’s jump into this.
FIVE WAYS TO STYLE A BELT BAG!
Over A Long Trench Coat
I LOOOVE this look with a slim fit sweater, high rise dark denim, booties and a trench coat. It’s such a sleek outfit and looks SO CHIC. I bought this trench coat two years ago but it’s the perfect dusty tan shade and matches my waist bag PERFECTLY. It really hugs your waist when you put the belt bag overtop of the coat. You are able to accentuate your smallest area and add that hourglass shape. You can also wear it underneath the coat, but I love that overtop is unexpected.
With A Simple Tee + Denim
This is just a simple look. I love pairing this waist belt with a neutral outfit like this because it’s just so understated and I love it. I tuck my tee into my denim and use the waist bag as an actual belt and then wear my favorite chunky sneakers (my Adidas Allstars are my go-to). I like that the belt bag is a little dressier because it contrasts in a fun way with this laid back outfit. You can also go with a belt bag that is really casual, too, if you prefer to dress it down, as well.
Over A Denim Jacket (across the chest)
Ok – my mom is going to hate this style – but I actually LOVE the way this looks. #whoops It’s very vogue-y and most of you will probably look at this and think “I absolutely cannot pull this style off” but I PROMISE YOU CAN! It is a unique way to wear the belt bag and it makes it so you don’t have to wear it as a traditional belt. I want you to push yourself and go out of the box style-wise this year because fashion should be FUN. I love this!
Overtop of a Jumpsuit
Two years ago I would never have been caught dead in a jumpsuit. I totally hate them. BUT I ACTUALLY LOVE THEM NOW. Ok. I have like a million jumpsuits now and I am obsessed. You can wear them SO many different ways and I’m HERE for it. This classic black jumpsuit + booties looks perfect paired with a belt bag, but honestly any jumpsuit would work here, whether it’s casual or dressy.
On Top of a Midi Dress
I love love LOVE LOVE midi dresses. I don’t tend to wear dresses that are shorter than right above my knee – so midi dresses are perfect for me. Belt bags break up the dress so that it doesn’t look like a weird length and also helps to accentuate your waist so that your shape isn’t lost in the dress, as well. I love that you can also dress this up or down: a t-shirt midi with sneakers or a ruffled or lace midi with heels or booties.
I love belt bags these days – and this particular belt bag is one of my all-time favorites (it is definitely a splurge – my aunt gifted this one to me) but Target has a MILLION affordable waist bag options in endless colors and styles so you definitely DO NOT have to style with with a Gucci bag. I just recently picked up a few other colors to add to my wardrobe, too (from Target, of course – maybe I’ll be able to afford to drop $1150 on Gucci one day. Today is not that day. LOL).
Do you love belt bags?? How do you like to style them??
