DECEMBER 2020 MONTHLY OBSESSIONS
Happy December. This year is ending on a weird foot – but I’m hoping 2021 sees a more positive upturn. These are the things I’ve been using, loving and sharing over the last month. ENJOY!
DECEMBER 2020 MONTHLY OBSESSIONS
I’ve talked about this before – Paint is my favorite nail salon of all time, the owner Whitney is a friend and is seriously amazing. Catch her episode on my podcast HERE. Paint is the ONLY place I’ve been to in STL that consistently does incredible nail art and where my gel nails last WAY longer than 2 weeks. I’m obsessed with the entire studio and the nail tech, Christina, did an INCREDIBLE job on my Christmas nails this month! 10/10 recommend.
Guys – when I say my jaw DROPPED after Florelle handed me our 2020 ornament. She is phenomenal and I am just absolutely in love with what she painted for us. We usually get a mall ornament while we are doing last minute Christmas shopping, but since we decided not to go into a crazy busy mall during a pandemic, I looked for another alternative. We’ve been trying to support local as much as we can, so this was the perfect thing!
In case you don’t follow me on instagram, I shared last week that I miscarried our second child last month. We have been trying so hard to have another baby (read about our infertility journey with Jack here) – and were ELATED when we found out we were pregnant SANS any help from our doctors. Unfortunately, this sweet baby wasn’t meant to be ours in this life. My sweet best friends, Chelsie & Erica, sent me this beautiful necklace. It was the exact thing I needed to help my heart heal. We are devastated at the loss of our baby, but we have hope that a rainbow baby will follow.
This stuff has changed my life. During the winter, I typically get really cracked hands – to the point where they are bleeding. I have tried for YEARS to find a lotion that actually works and isn’t just mostly fragrance (looking at you bath and body works) and have fallen short. UNTIL NOW. I got a sample of this lotion somewhere – and once I started using it I was hooked. Within a few days, I immediately ordered the full tub of this lotion. This is going to make it into my top 10 beauty products of all time.
STARBUCKS CARMEL APPLE SPICE
I am obsessed with this drink. I order it at least twice a week (I have a starbucks problem – and the fact that there is one 2.5 minutes from my house does not help). It tastes like apple pie in a cup – the perfect drink to warm you up on a chilly winter day! Take my advice and order ASAP.
ANY AND ALL THINGS BABY YODA
Listen. I know you’re going to laugh at me but I don’t care. I am obsessed with Baby Yoda. I love the Mandalorian – it’s one of my favorite shows. We are on a kick with getting Jack Baby Yoda merchandise – and I personally snagged the new Hallmark 2020 ornament HERE and drew + embroidered my own little Baby Yoda for my office. Chelsie also got me a Baby Yoda sweatshirt for Christmas and it couldn’t be any more ME. HA!
Our queen, Taylor Swift herself, released a SECOND album in the year of 2020 and we are all still quaking in our boots. It’s Folklore’s sister album and we are all collectively obsessed with it. Notable tracks for me include: Champagne Problems, Long Story Short, Closure, Happiness and Willow.
Newest True Crime obsession: Lights Out Podcast! I stumbled upon this one from a friend of mine – they cover everything from True Crime to ghosts. The hosts have super soothing voices so they’re pleasant to listen to (while they spin scary tales). PLUS : their episodes are almost always over an hour long which is exactly how I like my podcasts.
I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my hair tools after posting some fun holiday hair tutorials and the most requested was that of my curling iron! I personally use the Hot Tools gold curling iron in the 1in size and I LOVE IT. I only wash my hair once a week these days and this curling iron is fast, easy to use and my hair holds the curl for days. It’s fantastic to touch up day 3, 4 and 5 curls.
These are freaking dangerous. I cannot stop eating them. We recently started doing our big shopping at Costco and it’s been lifechanging. These little devils are delicious and they don’t make me feel guilty when I eat them. Yummy and less calories than a Reece’s big cup. hah!
