City Tour: St. Louis
IT IS FRIIIIIII-YAY. I am so excited that it is the weekend. Adam and I have been hard at work exploring our new city and I have put together a city tour for anyone who is planning on coming to our neck of the woods soon (also please visit if you do). We are coming to love this fun and exciting place and there is SO much more we need to do before we feel like we’ve got it down. Read on for our city tour!
City Tour: St. Louis
Attraction 1: Gateway Arch.
This one is realllllyyyyy obvious but you have to do it if you visit. I’m not a huge fan of heights but this one is actually fun. You can see the entire city and it’s a dang good view. 10/10 would recommend.
Attraction 2: Six Flags.
Need I say more? I’m totally a thrill seeker and we have big plans to come here this summer. I’ve been to several Six Flags so knowing I’m super close to one of my favorite amusement parks is SO EXCITING. Plus also they have a water park. Sooooooo.
Attraction 3: St. Louis Zoo.
This zoo is huge and totally free. That’s right. You heard me. 100% F R E E. We went last summer while it was still super warm out and had a blast. We didn’t even get to go through the whole thing, so we are stoked to go back again. The animals are beautiful and the lions remind me of my own pretty spoiled kitty.
Attraction 4: City Museum.
Not a fan of traditional art museums? What about ones you can climb all over? Adam and I did this for our birthdays and we cannot wait to go back. It is a museum that is essentially an adult playground. There are tunnels, a 10-story slide, and more. We discovered our inner child and you will NOT be disappointed. Seriously.
Attraction 5: Botanical Gardens.
This has been on my to-do list forEVER. I love gardens and this is 79 acres of pure beauty. There are so many exotics plants. I think I’m going to be most in love with the Japanese garden. If you have little ones, there is an interactive children’s garden as well! YAY!
Attraction 6: The Loop.
Six blocks of fun! There is live music, clothing boutiques, a “walk of fame” for St. Louis celebrities. Plus, if nothing else, the food is amazing. If you like solar systems, the Planet Walk exhibit might be for you, too!
Attraction 7: Busch Stadium.
Also a no brainer. I’ve never actually been inside but I am planning on going during the summer! I don’t like watching baseball on tv but I do like going to the games. It’s more of a social sport anyways. It’s one of the most popular things to do in the city!
Attraction 8: St. Louis Science Center.
I am so excited for this. If you are a regular reader here, then you know that I graduated college with a degree in Biochemistry. So, it really shouldn’t be a surprise that the science center is CALLING my name. Plus also there is a life sized T-Rex. A LIFE-SIZE T-REX. Let that sink in.
I hope this city tour helped those of you who were on the fence about coming to visit me in my new home, DON’T BE! This is only a fraction of the amazing things St. Louis has to offer. I cannot wait to explore the rest of it.
