Well it isn’t a secret that it is EASTER on Sunday. I’m excited to be celebrating my beliefs with my family and enjoying a solid egg salad (because y’all know that is the only reason I go through the whole egg dying situation). One of my favorite family traditions is that even though we are all full grown now, we still hunt for Easter baskets. I always get a new book in mine which gets me excited every year. I love love love to read and getting lost in a new book especially. Also I typically get Starburst Jelly Beans and they are like, my favorite candy in the whole world. Soo. Without further ado….let’s jump into this.
Tip One: Pastels are your friend.
I’m not really a HUGE pastel person. HOWEVER. At this time of year, I make an exception. For some reason, I always end up in light blue. When choosing the right shade of dress, think about the undertones in your skin. I could never wear a light yellow because I have yellow undertones and I look as sallow as all get it. My color wheel has mostly jewel and earth tones in it, so I tend to go for either green, blue, purple, and pink. I simply take those colors and make ’em pastel. For example, baby blue or a killer lavender are ALWAYS safe choices.
Tip Two: Pattern it up!
Easter is an awesome time to break out your pattern loving side. A few years ago, I went with a killer floral look, and last year it was geometric. This year is a mix of the two. The several colors the are mixed in at the bottom make it perfect for pairing with accent colors.
Tip Three: Bright lips and neutral accessories.
This is always my go-to. I love a BOLD LIP! But, because your pattern is so busy, you want to keep things simple. I threw on a white jean jacket to soften the dress and paired it with baby pink flats. The bold lip pulled in the bottom of the dress and the whole look comes out clean and gorgeous.
Tip Four: Eat as much chocolate as humanly possible.
Ok this has NOTHING to do with style but it is MANDATORY for easter. I went with a classy and not messy at all chocolate ice cream cone, but feel free to do a chocolate egg and or reese’s egg or any type of chocolate in egg form. It’s the rules. Don’t let me eat the chocolate alone.
